Apple sponge cake recipe

This type of apple cake can be made throughout the whole year as its main ingredient, apple, it is available all the year round.

This cake has a compact and dense texture without being heavy due to the moisture that apple gives it.


  • 3 eggs.
  • 140 g butter at room temperature.
  • 150 grams of sugar.
  • 200 g cake flour.
  • 150 ml of liquid cream.
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon (depending on individual taste).
  • 5 apples.
  • Kelmy Icing Sugar.


Preheat oven to 180°C (356ºF).

Sift the flour and set aside.

In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar.

Add eggs and beat well.

Incorporate the flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Mix well to avoid lumps.


You have two ways to prepare the cake:

Either the apples are grinded and added to the mixture.

Or you can also cut the apples into thin slices and spread them over the cake top.


Finally, grease a 20 cm mold and pour into it the entire mixture.

Place in the oven and bake for 45 min.

Let it cool.


Finally, serve the cake sprinkled with Kelmy Icing Sugar. Ready to serve.
